Upcoming Dates:

2025 Dates

  • August 4–8   9:30 AM - 11:30 AM daily

Location:

4040 N. Central Expressway, Suite 210, Dallas, TX 75204

Benefits:

The Launchpad intensive will set you up to practice better boundaries, develop healthier relationships, reduce and release toxic shame, increase your feelings of inherent self-worth, and foster healthy interpersonal relationships.

Framework:

The framework for Launchpad rests upon the groundbreaking work of Pia Mellody, Terrence Real, Dr. Robert Glover, and Dr. Francine Shapiro. Launchpad serves to help young men begin to break free of patterns that no longer serve them as they step into young adulthood, and develop a vision of a future that includes healthy relationships with oneself and others.

Phases:

Day 1: Core Identity – The first day of our intensive class will guide participants through the basics of recognizing symptoms of codependency, understanding their masculine identity beyond social scripts, and the skills of being a functional adult. The group will participate in discussion of these topics after psychoeducation, explore individual values and beliefs, and discuss the concept of masculinity through the lens of Terrance Real.

Day 2: How are you Coping? – On Day 2, the group will explore a variety of numbing behaviors and the feelings that precede unhealthy coping behaviors. Group members will discuss how they sit with difficult feelings and learn new coping skills to sit with difficult feelings without engaging in destructive habits.

Day 3: Becoming Your Own Person – This day’s discussion will focus on individuation from our family of origin and self-reliance. We will review independent living skills and help group members conduct an honest assessment of their current abilities and gaps in knowledge. Discussions will focus on the 5 Adult Needs from John Lee’s Growing Yourself Back Up and how to shift relationships with parents and mentors as we enter adulthood.

Day 4: Building Healthy Relationships – Understanding healthy relational boundaries can be difficult, and this day focuses on how setting boundaries helps one feel more self-confident and creates an environment where intimacy can flourish. We will discuss qualities of positive romantic and friendly relationships, and role-play boundary setting with friends, romantic partners, and roommates. Members will also learn and practice conflict resolution basics.

Day 5: Future Self and Resilience Planning – To close our intensive, group members will set a vision for their first year in college and plan accountability to help them achieve their vision. Discussion will include how to develop support systems, aspirational letter writing, and fears about the upcoming year. Group will close with members discussing their final reflections of their week and affirming fellow group members.

Ongoing Recovery and Empowerment Education – You will receive a set of strategies, tools, and resources to help make permanent these empowering principles in your daily life.
