Education & Experience
As a native Texan, I grew up in Dallas and earned my bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin, where I majored in Psychology with a concentration in neuroscience and completed minors in Business and Geography. I am currently a graduate-level counseling intern at the University of North Texas with specialized training in trauma-informed and nervous-system-based approaches to healing. My clinical work is conducted under the supervision of Erin Wyson-Warren, LPC-S, and University of North Texas faculty.
After completing my undergraduate degree, I worked in Wilderness Therapy programs in southern Idaho and central Oregon for over five years, where I developed a passion for supporting at-risk adolescents and young adults in processing trauma and reshaping maladaptive coping strategies within a wilderness setting. As a head field instructor and therapist, I strengthened my skills in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and resilience-building while supporting clients with diverse emotional and behavioral challenges.
Currently, I am becoming Polyvagal-informed while receiving training in Brainspotting, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic approaches, and mindful breathwork to enhance my trauma-informed practice.
Personal Focus
My clinical focus centers on nervous system regulation and understanding the root causes of the adaptive strategies clients use to cope and self-soothe. I strive to create a safe, supportive therapeutic environment where clients can explore core beliefs, cognitive distortions, and the underlying emotional and physiological patterns that shape their experiences. Grounded in a strong belief in self-actualization, I practice unconditional positive regard, guided by the understanding that all behaviors emerge as attempts to meet needs or serve protective functions.
