I want to…

Introduction

Healing begins when we turn inward with curiosity and compassion. Emotional distress is a sign that something important needs to shift. When you’re feeling stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed, the root cause may lie in unprocessed pain or unmet needs held in both the mind and body. Areas I specialize in treating include:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Developmental trauma

  • Relational challenges

  • Difficult life transitions

  • Parental enmeshment

  • Veterans, first responders, and individuals affected by war, death, or other shock traumas

My approach to therapy is experiential. This means we work to directly access the emotional states that drive patterns of thought and behavior. The goal is not only to understand your experiences, but to transform the emotional beliefs at their core.

I draw from Coherence Therapy, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Psychosynthesis to help clients create lasting change. These methods are supported by research in the neuropsychology of memory reconsolidation, which shows that the brain is capable of updating deeply held emotional truths when specific conditions are met. In practice, this means we don’t just talk about your challenges. We work together to change the deeper patterns underneath them. As you grow and heal, your view of yourself naturally shifts to match the person you are becoming.

Education and Experience

I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and I have a Master of Science in Counseling from Southern Methodist University where I focused on trauma studies.

My clinical experience includes:

  • Counseling individuals in correctional settings on mental health and rehabilitation

  • Facilitating group therapy in Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP)

  • Providing individual therapy for clients with complex or long-standing challenges

  • Supporting adults, adolescents, and families at the SMU Center for Family Counseling

In addition to my counseling practice, I am a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC). I have worked extensively with men in collegiate and young adult environments, offering individual support and group consultation on emotional health, leadership, and identity development.

I currently provide mental health advising for fraternities and other young adult organizations, with an emphasis on mental health culture, leadership integrity, and peer accountability. My research interests include the developmental role of rites of passage and the opportunities for personal growth within male group environments.

I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where I studied in the Plan II Honors Program and minored in Kinesiology and Health Education. As a former chapter president of Sigma Alpha Mu, I bring lived experience and insight into the unique dynamics of fraternity life. This background informs my work with emerging adult men, student leaders, and organizations seeking a healthier path forward.

Personal Focus

Therapy with me is an active, engaged process. I offer a space that balances honesty with compassion, and where growth is supported through both reflection and emotional experience.

We will work to understand the deeper emotional patterns that are shaping your life. Together, we’ll build awareness, reconnect with your internal strengths, and support lasting transformation from the inside out.
