Post-Induction Therapy in Dallas, TX for Healing Childhood Trauma and Relationship Patterns

PIT helps individuals identify and heal the core emotional injuries that contribute to patterns such as codependency, difficulty with boundaries, shame, people-pleasing, relationship struggles, and challenges with self-worth.

You might be someone who’s done a lot of work to understand yourself—your patterns, your relationships, and why you respond the way you do. But even with that insight, something still feels stuck.

You may recognize where certain behaviors come from, yet still find yourself reacting in ways that don’t align with who you want to be. This is often because the effects of early childhood experiences are not stored solely as memories or beliefs—they can also live in the nervous system, emotional responses, and relationship dynamics. When developmental wounds remain unresolved, they can continue to shape how you relate to yourself and others, even when you intellectually understand them.

At IRR Dallas, we offer Post-Induction Therapy to help you move beyond surface-level coping and begin addressing the deeper roots of what you’re experiencing—so you can feel more connected, regulated, and authentic in your relationships and daily life.

What is Post-Induction Therapy?

Post-Induction Therapy (PIT), developed by Pia Mellody, is a trauma-informed therapeutic approach designed to address the lasting effects of childhood relational wounds, developmental trauma, and family-of-origin experiences.

Through a combination of education, experiential work, and emotional processing, clients can begin to resolve unresolved childhood pain and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.

This may include:

  • Chronic feelings of shame or low self-worth

  • Difficulty setting or maintaining healthy boundaries

  • Codependent or people-pleasing relationship patterns

  • Emotional reactivity, abandonment fears, or relationship distress

Is Post-Induction Therapy Right for You?

Post-Induction Therapy may be a good fit if you:

  • Want to understand and heal the deeper roots of longstanding emotional or relational struggles

  • Are ready to explore how childhood experiences may be impacting your present-day life

  • Appreciate a therapeutic approach that combines insight with experiential healing

  • Feel frustrated that traditional talk therapy has increased awareness but hasn't fully created the changes you're seeking

Our Approach at IRR Dallas

At IRR Dallas, we take an integrative, trauma-informed approach to Post-Induction Therapy.

Rather than focusing solely on symptom management, we work to understand the underlying experiences that shaped your beliefs, coping strategies, and relationship patterns. This allows us to tailor therapy to your unique nervous system, history, and goals rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

What to Expect

Post-Induction Therapy is designed to help you explore and heal unresolved childhood experiences in a supportive and structured environment. While this work can be deeply meaningful, it is not about reliving painful experiences without support. Instead, therapy focuses on helping you understand how past experiences continue to affect you today and developing new ways of relating to yourself and others.

Our goal is to create a space where you feel safe enough to explore, process, and move toward meaningful change.
